Before I begin the content of this post, I want to state a few things for the record:
1. I am normally a very pleasant person;
2. I try to have poise and grace;
3. I don't usually drop the F-bomb.
The following is a true story. What you are about to read would make British nobility lose their composure.
My friend, Magdaelena, and I go to the mall playground every other Friday. We let the kids play for a few hours while we catch up. Today was no different.
After about an hour, a family of four came to play. Dad was holding a newborn and mom was holding a toddler (2 years old). The toddler immediately went to play with the steering wheel that Emma was playing with. Emma quickly reacted, "No. Emma," and moved his hand away. I could tell the mother didn't like that. I told Emma to let the kid play and so she went to climb up the jungle gym. Magdaelena and I continued our conversation.
Suddenly, I heard the man saying something in a stern voice. I looked up and he was yelling at Emma (no, I am not making this up). "If you're mother isn't going to discipline you, then I am. You shouldn't shove other kids...."
This is about the same time I lost above-stated poise and grace. The man and I went toe-to-toe for about 5 minutes. I can't remember exactly what was said, but I do remember him saying these things. "You shouldn't be a mother if you can't discipline your child." "You are a horrible mother." "In the rules, it says to monitor your children at all times." And the kicker, "I wouldn't be surprised if she turned out pregnant at 15." Yes, he did.
I did lose my composure. I did yell. And, I may or may not have dropped a few F-bombs. I can't quite remember all the details.
Meanwhile, the lady was rambling on and arguing with Magdaelena. I heard Magdaelena say, "Really?!? Really?!? That's the best you can come up with?"
The woman said she was going to call mall security, I told her she should since they were verbally abusing my child and me.
They left. Magdaelena and I talked about it for a few more minutes and laughed.
He wasn't half the man he thought he was. And, I'm sure his child won't be either.
Wow! I would of hit him and Ivan would have had to bail me out of jail.
